“Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time” -Steven Wright Druk School joins in on the nation’s emphasis on healthy living. A walk to remember, A walk to cherish. All Drukians (teachers and students) along with their parents , relatives and friends take part in the Annual Family Fun Walk in an unwavering effort to promote a healthier culture. A culture Druk School strongly believes in. “Walking for a sound mind and a sound body” Anyone who believes in the power of a walk can join us tomorrow and walk with us to the Buddha Point. Date: 4th April, 2015 Reporting Time: 07:45 AM Flag off time: 08:00 AM Starting point: Druk School Parking lot End point: Buddha Point Dress code: Sports gear N.B: Everyone taking part is advised to bring their own drinking water, sun screen lotion and other sun protection gear. Drukians will also do their share to preserve the environment by collecting trash while on the way to the Buddha Point. Annual Family Fun Walk,2015 ( 7.45am-10.30am) All the well wishers of the students of Druk School are cordially invited to participate in the Annual Family Fun Walk on 4th April,2015.The walk will be from the school park till Kuenselphodrang Buddha Point. The main objectives of this walk are: 1. To support the Move for Health initiative of the Ministry of Health and Medical Sciences 2. T o achieve the School’s Motto of Excellence of Body, Mind and Speech. 3. To ensure one can prevent lifestyle diseases to assist the Government to cut down the medical expenses in the future. 4.To assist in the preservation of the environment. Each participant who completes the walk will be rewarded with 100 points Coupon. These coupons will be deposited into their respective House Boxes. Each participant who collect and hands over garbage ,irrespective of amount, collected during the walk, will also be rewarded with 100 points coupons. These coupons will also be deposited into their respective House Boxes.(Please ,please! please! please come with a sack, to collect the garbage By the end of the programme, the coupons would be counted and the points collected by each House would be added to their House marks, for the target towards the Champion House of 2015. School students would come dressed in School PE uniform with lots of sunscreen applied and with water and sun cap. Parents and other participants may come in sportswear, if preferred. His Excellency Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk, the Minister of Health and Medical Sciences, has kindly consented to be the Guest of Honour and flag off the walk.
Please walk or use pool cars. There is no parking space available on 4th April in and around the school.
